Board Briefs for February 22, 2016 Planning and Regular Meetings

Below is a synopsis of the board meeting actions and discussions that took place at the February 22, 2016 planning and regular board meetings held at the Administration Center.


Planning Meeting:

Dr. Riibe spoke about the Washington Elementary Study and shared information regarding projected class sizes should Washington close. 

He and Director of Finance Jean Garner also presented information on the Physical, Plant, and Equipment Levy and how it pertains to future infrastructure projects now that Jefferson Elementary is completed.

Regular Meeting:
  1. No one spoke during Citizens Speak.
  2. Consent Agenda was approved.
    1. Minutes of February 8, 2016 Regular Session.
    2. Employment Recommendations of: 
      1. Resignations (at the end of the 2015-16 school year): Anna Roorda - CMS 8th Grade ELA; Ashley Houk - WMS 6th Grade ELA, Keely Knepper - CMS Special Education.
    3. Student Teaching Agreement with Upper Iowa University.
    4. Bills and Claims.
  3. Approved SBRC Modified Supplemental Assistance for At Risk Funding.
  4. Set Public Hearing to Certify the Budget for Monday, March 28, 2016 at 7 p.m. at the Administration Center.

    2. March 14, 2016 - Regular Board Meeting at 7 p.m. at City Hall.
    3. March 21-25, 2016 - Spring Break
    4. March 28, 2016 - Board Planning Meeting at 6 p.m. and Regular Meeting at 7 p.m. at the Administration Center.
